About Us

Mustu Daiko is a Japanese Taiko drumming duo, based in Seattle that was founded in 2002 by Alan & Nadeshko Braddock.
In Japanese, Mutsu means "good harmony" or "playing happily together" and Daiko is the form
that the word "taiko" takes when it follows a noun. We feel that this name reflects the way that
we feel about playing taiko and want to transfer our enjoyment of taiko to our listeners.

We provide educational and entertaining taiko performances solely for schools, libraries, Japanese cultural events, and Japanese community organizations.

In addition, we are performing members of the Okinawa Kenjin Kai (OKK) of Washington Eisa Taiko group and regularly perform with them.  During OKK events, Nadeshko plays the paranku and Alan plays the wa-daiko.

Our repertoire consists of original and traditional pieces as well as adaptations of the taiko songs
written by Grand Master Seiichi Tanaka sensei of the San Francisco Taiko Dojo.
